Hey guys I'm doing a dana 28 to the dana 35 swap I'm changing the gears to 456 my question is is the dana 35 a reverse ring and pinion or standard I'm seeing it both ways I'm just not sure and also if it is a reverse do I need to buy a reverse master install kit to or will a regular one work I'm ready to buy but I don't want to buy the wrong parts so any help is appreciated oh and the dana 35 I have is out of a 91 ranger

For Rangers
1997 and older Dana 35 use reverse rotation
1998 and up are Dana 35 SLA and use normal rotation

Yes you need to use reverse rotation gears

Generally speaking if pinion/driveshaft connection is below center line it is normal rotation, above center line reverse rotation

The TTB D35 does use reverse-cut gears, however that isn't what you look for in a gear installation kit (at least not in this case)...
What you need to make sure is that the installation kit you get covers your particular year TTB D35 axle. Unique to these kits are the straight (torrington-style) roller bearing for the passenger side axle shaft, the large thick carrier shims (that go between the bearings and the housing), and the cone-shaped driverside axle shaft seal.
