Generally DRL are not as bright as low beams.
People like the DRL that come on with the key because they go off with the key... and thus don't damage the battery if someone forgets to turn them off.
Daytime Running Lights on Rangers in Canada use the high beam headlights at a lower voltage, or in some cases (Chrysler minivans between 1996 and 2000 for sure, maybe later ones up to 2006, as well, and some GM cars, and maybe some other Chrysler products) use the front parking lights at full intensity. On models that use the high beam headlights, when you turn the headlights on the DRLs turn off.So how does that work? A voltage reducer for the low beam filament when in drl mode? Or did the canadian trucks have a different grill with seperate lights for the DRLs?
Since DRLs use lights that exist on both Canadian and US vehicles, they look identical. Same grill, same lights, same number of lights.
