The mad max 2.9 looks like it has an sc12 or 14, he says its spinning in reverse so I have to assume an aisin.
Running vbelts and an auxiliary serp, probably some severe parasitic drain with that long belt and all those pullies.

So, fueling is obviously a concern for my potential build.
The 3.8 CFI has to be regulated down to run NA on the 2.8. And a SC would require boost referenced rise in fuel pressure.
Here are my assumptions: I can use the FPR built into the CFI/TBI to achieve a lower NA pressure, 38-40 psi or so i am guessing.
After the CFI FPR I run an inline FMU capable of both set point and boost referenced rise.
Tuning would require trial and error and potentially larger injectors.

I'm starting to see there is no really cheap way to go about a SC build. FMU + Boost ign re tard=$500+?
Any ideas of low cost options? Any JY ignition re tard systems? Or more affordable than MSD?

Megasquirt on eBay will be 300-400 and will absolutely be more capable than anything else you could use, plus it's universal to any engine you want to use next...

Yes, I'm starting to see that costs are relatively equivalent.
So, the ignition and fuel curve could be set with Megasquirt? Eliminating a FMU and MSD 6BTM? Or are these necessary on top of Megasquirt?
I assume MegaS can only be used on 1 vehicle at a time?
Also, does it require MAF conversion?
I can't tell you how appreciative I am that you've already walked this path! :p

hey all, extremely interested in this. have a 2.8 in my pinto that i was thinking of the same thing. (have 2 extra motors to play with sitting on the shop floor) but was wondering about V belt driven centrifugal style supercharger. any information about this? i will read all these pages tonight that i see here. I don't want to be cutting the hood open to give away the secret sauce. ;)
