Hey guy's. Im currently turning my 2000 ford ranger into a bass rig. Im gonna have 4600 watts in speaker power. This puts my amps for running the speakers at 320. I already have a 320 amp alternator from my old system. Id like to not stress my current alternator to the max/be able to bump at idle. My only logical choice is to run 2 alternators. Ive done alot of research and cant find any dual alternator brackets for the 2.5l (I know the 5.0 and 5.8 winsor use the same alternator). I saw a post of a guy who did a dual alternator on the 2.3l. I dont think its all to different, but im not sure. If anyone has ever done a dual alternator on a 2.5l, please let me know how you did it.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Wow. 4600watts = 6Hp

How much horsepower does the 2.5 make at idle?

“Let’s see. It’s 100 degrees and 85% humidity today. Should I run the air conditioner? Or the stereo?”

Just kidding. But that sounds like a lot of stereo power.

I did not know there was a conversion from watts to HP. Thanks for letting me know. The motor is definitely a dog. I live in denver so the elevation doesnt help either. I took it up the rocky moutians once. This was before i had the stereo. I was going up Eisenhower tunnel and litterly had to redline the truck in second to not dip below 55mph. It doesnt have power by any means lol. 4600 is alot for this little truck. Around the limit in my opinion

1Hp = 746 watts (close enough )
