If it wasn’t for the double bail out and the craptastic reliability of their transmissions, I would get one. I love the looks and concept of Jeeps, I just don’t want to support a car company that should have gone out of business a long time ago nor the repair bill that comes built in with a Fiat Chrysler product.

I do. They also own Ferrari, what's left of Lancia, Renault, and a few other car companies I quite like.

Tell me the new Ranger is anything like the older ones and that Ford stayed true to their roots like Jeep did. ?

The biggest root that Jeep has stayed by is the grille that Ford designed for them and retaining two solid axles with removable doors.

They are kind of the Jonah of car companies, Bantam, Willys, Kaiser, AMC, Chrysler, Daimler Chrysler... all had Jeep.

There has been a lot of times on this forum, Somebody asks "Why don't Ford Do (_______)", and most of the time , the answer is, "Ford don't want to R&D a lot because it costs a lot of money to do "THIS" or "THAT". So this "news" is kind of a slap in the face to all those people, because it was a TOTAL waste of resources, and it probably makes those guys feel a little dumb. Because if you sat a bunch of idiots in a room and asked them how could we waste a lot of money, this is what they would have came up with; A public announcement that something new is coming: a lot of hype on the internet about said "thing; Lost of buzz about what is coming: THEN,
