While over in Michigan last week... I took the time to see some of my best friends and wrenching/business partners to catch up a bit. I so miss being in that area... the shop full of tools... our race cars... dune buggies... so many memories.

One thing my friends kids do is the gambler 500. It's coming up the weekend of June 3rd I believe. They're pretty worked up and looking forward to the festivities.

There is a chance my buddy and I might try going to it this year. Probably not to compete... but the camping weekend with trail rides and watch these modified gambler rides do stuff they probably shouldn't be doing.

Anyone here ever done it?

I'm going to search for a link and I'll post it when I do find one.

This is the newest ride the kids are modifying. Saturn ION... lifted... body skins removed and a few other mods I can't remember. It's going to get some sort of stack with flapper pipe exhaust... roof rack and trunk mods for a spare and other necessities.

It was nice to see some youth being excited about cars and mods and other stuff I enjoyed in youth.

This is another... the pickle vic.

All I could find is a Facebook page.

But it does look like last year they had someone chef-in up pizza. The competition looks like a worthy adversary

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Both the gambler and 24 hrs of LeMons are definute bucket list things to do

Always wanted to get into a gambler or lemons race.

I think the lemons is a lot more work to get ready due to the safety stuff. Never had the money for it.

Gambler is much more doable, just have to travel a bit.

Buy it, build it, and drive it like you stole it
They have them here where I ride every fall and spring. I like to go out and just watch them get stuck in the holes. Have pulled a few out while riding. Not only does it look fun as heck but they do a great job cleaning up the trails in our area. Last fall I went out and loaded my bed full of old tires an took it back to their camp where they had a huge construction dumpster. People had drug up old boots and campers just abandoned in the woods. It's definitely on my bucket list to build one and compete. The guy sponsoring it runs a twin turbo mustang on 32s
