Has anyone dropped a 2019+ Ranger 2.3 engine in a pre-2012 Ranger?

How big -is- the 10R80? I found the weight listed quickly (230lb's) but nothing for other dimensions.
Not really that huge, seemed similar in size to my old A4LD really:

But for the 4wd version what we call the extension housing is now part of the t-case. 2wd would have some sort of housing on the end too.

F-150 version with t-case installed (in F-150 chassis)

Thanks. I remember looking at them in Detroit but didn't have anything side by side for comparison. The weight surprised me, I didn't realize they were quite that solid.

All those plates and planetaries that the case is full of are steel, I bet it adds weight fast.

Stupid little rubber band A4LD is heavier than one would think too (with less than half the gears even on a good day) I bet they are close to 100lbs. Double the gears, make it strong enough to hold real hp... yeah it probably isn't too far off.

As I recall, the 4R70W I've got behind the 5.0 is 170 pounds. It's healthy, but not quite that big-boned.

Thanks everyone who actually added something meaningful to this.

For those of us looking to upgrade our drivetrains and don’t necessarily like the size of the new Rangers or the high up stubby beds, is why I threw this idea out there. Maybe in 3-5 years it’ll be a more practical swap. Idk
