Need help adjusting headlights up. Replaced the housing bc they were to foggy. The housing has 3 studs and one had a screw that moves the head lamp up some but not enough and it's maxed. I've read on other forums you can lock on to the stud right below it with a socket and it will adjust it to. I tried that and a 4mm for it perfect but the stud just seems to be free spinning. It doesn't move in or out when I turn it. Any help would be appreciated!

I replaced the housings on my 93 Ranger and as I moved the adjusters matched them on the new ones adjusted just as they'd been on the old ones, it worked rather well

My credo
If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
The center of the light is supposed to be on the ground 30ft from the vehicle. If this is where it sits it is adjusted far enough up but if not there must be something off somewhere or an adjuster you are not setting properly. I am not familiar with the '06 adjusters so I cant help with that But on the 93-97's there are 3 adjusters maybe you are just not seeing a third?

Were there any papers that came with the new units? I'd suggest starting there. Hopefully there would be some instructions in it to address proper installation.

I only did mine about 6 or 8 months ago but am having difficulties recalling exactly how it went, but they came out shining right where I think they belong. I saved one for the adjusters and such and just went and looked at it, actually it has 3 attachment points, only two of which are adjustable. One on the bottom is only a support with a rubber nub that sits into a mounting hole and the two top ones are adjustable, but should not spin, even tho they are designed to swivel. I'm not sure if my new lenses came with both adjusters or not, but I did have at least two left over. I simply can't remember exactly how it worked, but I know they came out doing well. Hopefully you'll find something that came with your new ones that will help resolve this for you

Edit again, the adjusters are set on the mounting bolts. I took mine from the factory and measured each adjuster and set the new ones at the same place, then slid the unit into place and put the mounting nut on and tightened it down

does a nut hold the adjuster bolt on after you've set the adjuster ?
I just edited my last comment a bit

Yours are just a bit different than mine but it looks like they work on the same principles
