Hey Elkhunter, welcome to TRS, there's a number of fine folks here from BC and Western Canada
I spent some time up there from Penticton to Hope and Vancouver, been quite a while back, but I remember it well.
Most I see of it nowadays is those wreckers trying to get those stuck trucks off the mountainsides, and I very well recall those runaway lanes they had back when I was there
