thanks floored, figured something should have changed. well this is starting to narrow down the problem. sorry for not diving deeper into the IAC way back when you asked about it, just never downed on me that it would be wiring issues, and not the device itself.

makes good sense though considering that same b4 and after the swapped engines.

ok, made a jumper from another harness. 3.0 volts running with engine warm. 10.5 ohms, cold and warm picture shows what i jumped. any insight to what is normal? also loosened off the bolts holding this in the intake. pulled the piece up to open it and a large vacuum leak started, kept pulling and the engine wanted to die as too large of area was exposed. also, there is another air item sensor in the intake. un plugged this and still no differences.

I don't like starting new threads if someone has already posted the issue. So, that is the reason for resurrection.

I am experiencing a similar issue with high idle.
  • At cold start, the idle is around 1000rpm.
  • After a few minutes of warmup, idle is 1250 - 1500rpm.
  • IAC replaced on old engine and idled correctly @ 650 - 900rpm. Only 2000 mi on IAC.
  • Unplugging the IAC makes no difference in idle.
  • Pinching either line running to the IAC stalls the engine.
  • Have sprayed starting fluid around every vacuum and intake fitting. No vacuum/fitting leaks.
I can pinch the line because this is a custom application with a supercharger. (See pic)
