I need some ideas on high idle.I have a 93 ranger 2.3l. idle increases when I put on the defrost.when I turn the defrost off the truck idles perfectly. On some vehicles this may be normal, however my truck has never done this.also when it is at high idle the rpm does not drop as it should when the accelerator is realeased while driving. My a/c compressor is disconnected so that’s out of the equation

Just a guess...
Defrost uses the AC. The software still thinks it needs to up the idle even with the AC disconnected.
High idle between shifts bugs the he'll out of me too. I've heard its like that for emissions reasons. Kind of makes sense because keeping an idle high uses less fuel than dropping the idle then having to add fuel to bring idle back up. Screws the hell out of me shifting without my clutch...?
