How big is the fuel tank in an 84 B2?

I suspect that this is really common- my fuel gauge is a big fat liar. When I fill it to the gas cap, it reads just over half a tank. So I have no idea how close I'm getting to empty. The farthest I've pushed it is 260km (about 150 miles).
And that takes around 45 bucks to refuel. And at $1.70 per liter, that means I'm burning 27 liters to do 260km.
I can't seem to find the tank size anywhere. Someone has to know

I'm just guessing, but I would like to think I'm still at at least half a tank.

Yep, 23 gallons. Heavy buggers when full if you need to drop one.

23 gallons! Woah nice that's 87 liters! Wow.
So at $1.70/L it'll be 150 bucks to fill. Wow I estimate then, that I can do 800km or 480 highway miles on a full tank.

Used to have an old Rambler the gauge was out, had to keep track of every gallon added, and every mile driven

I'm converting my spare tire holder to carry a 5 gallon Scepter military shaped jerry can. Should be able to squeeze a 1000km out of it.
I totally hear you about watching the odometer. Constantly doing math

it actually came out fairly well, figuring a bit less mileage than it actually got, we'd sometimes get a full tank for just a couple of bucks

23 gallons as previously stated! I bought a Dorman replacement unit from Rock Auto because it was unbelievably inexpensive and cheap insurance!

I also bought a new pump/sender unit and as is the case with so many gauges back in the day it's not terribly accurate. I actually thought my sender was broken because it took forever for it to move past the (over) full mark and then it dropped like a rock. Making sure you have the right speedometer gear in your transfer case is important if you've changed tire sizes/gear rations too...
