Okay, my '99 Ranger a/c is ice cold. So much so I keep it about 1/3 towards the coldest from the middle.

However, now that it is summer, if I need to do 10 minutes on the interstate or longer, the temperature slowly migrates to a warm temperature. It will stay like this at higher, uninterrupted speeds.

Yet as soon as I exit the interstate, it is blowing ice cold again, usually by the time the light changes to turn onto a regular surface street.

Open to any ideas as to what it may be.

Thanks!

Could be overcharged can you detect if the compressor is going off and on at higher RPMs?

Thanks Denise. No, I can only hear that when I'm parked and the hood is up.

But at least those loud stereos and shooting when I was younger was fun then!

Try running it at high RPMs (+- 2000) while parked see if a Cuts in and out

If the whole compressor is really cold and sweating it's a good chance it's overcharged

if just the line going to it is cold and sweating it's probably close to an okay charge.

If it's your Cycles on and off on and off at low RPMs it may be low on refrigerant.
