I installed one in an older Lincoln once. It replaced the trunk mounted Changer. It actually worked well but of course it was not able to displat text from the ipod on the radio display. It did display the playlist number and the track (song number) on the factory radio

To get the most from the Ipod I do recommend an aftermarket radio.

On the aftermarket radio make sure you get an 'aux in' plug in.
