My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
This is a great thread. Lot of good advice, a lot of good karma. TRS rocks!

@Kira I got it for the cost of a tow :) It belonged to my wife's family. Has 100k+ miles on it. Supposedly it ran fine when they parked it under the tree

I changed out the oil, it was...interesting...the coolant smelled terrible, as expected lol and the spark plugs were all rusted over.

The cleaning is a continuous project, I clean it out as I work on it, and am discovering more and more places that leaves and pine needles hide.

The tires are completely rotted/come apart so there's not really a chance of them inflating. It's sitting on jack stands now so it'll be fine until the new ones.

I'll look into the water pump, I have the gasket to replace it along with the thermostat; will check on whether water pump is good.
