I'd try a local LKQ Pick Your Part. They frequently get old Rangers and Broncos in. And their parts are usually priced quite reasonably.

Just checked, there aren't any Pick Your Parts in AZ... However, I'm sure that if you dig around online, you'll find a salvage yard somewhere close to you.

I may have a pair of original Ford 2.9 valve covers.

There's a guy in Ireland that makes these. $180 or so for a set. Ordering a set for mine as soon as the rest of the truck doesn't look like sh*t. ?

So, did you ever get those valve covers, or has your Merkur Scorpio project put that on hold? At first glance they look like they're aluminum, but after clicking on the pic they almost look like steel .

Me? Didn't get them yet. Way too much other crap to not make look like sh*t.

Did sandblast an old set the other day. Confirmed suspicions the drivers side one was Swiss cheese.

That's what I figured :). They look nice, but I couldn't imagine putting a pair on my 2.9 until after I rebuilt it and slapped on those stainless JBA's I've had waiting for the last year or so. I'm thinking this fall after it cools down a bit. And that $200 would be better spent on a much needed paint job. A Maaco special probably.

I found a really nice set of '89s at the local Pick-a-part a few months ago, so they'll have to do for now.

JBA's, eh? Love em. Did wonders for mine.

Yeah, I figured that $250 was a decent price when I saw them on eBay. I did have to spring for an '89 cat to go with it though. I figured I would go with 2-1/4" exhaust after the cat, so I need to have an intermediate pipe and tailpipe made. Or maybe just a turn down exhaust tip after the muffler and forget about the tailpipe.

I did a full 2.5" exhaust after the cats with a Flowmaster FlowFX. Sounds awesome, but I'm heading the route of forced induction, so the extra room will.probably help.
