Thanks. I had a mobile locksmith come out and make me two new transponder keys. Cost me $200 but it's done but that's the expertise of knowing. What I've seen a couple people do on youtube is mount one of the transponder keys firmly inside the steering column next to the ignition and use spare keys from now on.
If you did this the spare keys must NOT BE transponder keys, just regular all metal keys
Two transponder keys sending out their unique numbers at the same time, can cause a garbled message to PATS, so No Start
Since you have two "working keys" now you can add a 3rd or 4th PATS key yourself, just need them cut to match the lock
If you ever just have one key, you can have that key "cloned" so you have a spare, "blank" PATS keys are available, a locksmith can Read working PATS key's number and then Write its number to a blank transponder key, so Clone the working key, less expensive option to have a spare working PATS key
But doesn't count as "2nd working key" since PATS sees both keys as the same key not two different keys
