I am considering doing a MAF conversion on my 2.9. Just to clarify, I did read the tech article. I live in California, and would prefer the CA emissions package on my truck to avoid as much headache on smog day as possible. Also, I read in the tech article that this conversion makes it idle much better... mine idles like a panting dog on a 110°day, so I'd love that benefit!
However, I don't want the hassle of finding someone to reprogram a brand new ecm, and I don't want the 19lb fuel injectors and the 5.0 parts. I would simply like to swap/add electric components from other 2.9s to give mine a MAF sensor.
My question is, is that easy to do? It it as simple as buying a MAF sensor, a new ecm (already factory programmed), and a new wiring harness? Am I missing anything?
Thank you guys!
