Im tring to unplug my MAF sensor so I can give it a good cleaning but I can't figure out how to unplug the dang thing. I studied it, pulled on it, yelled at it and no go. It has a red slider clip on the bottom that moves back and forth but it doesn't seem to do anything.

The truck is a 05 Ranger 4x4 XLT...

I didn't wanna really yank on it for fear of something breaking and my wallet becoming lighter than it already is:annoyed:

Hope some one could give me some insight...

The red clip, should just slide out, maybe not ocmpletely though then it should allow you to either unplug it or push a another clip and un plug it. Go to the auto parts store and check all the haynes manuals for one that is outta the palstic and read it. They are on there snug though so you might have to yank a lil.

Pull the red clip out (It doesn't come all the way out) and then press down with your thumb on the area where the clip came out of, this is the release. Wiggle the plug off. Voila.

You would think they could at least make all the plugs the same. No, you have to look and figure out what to push, pull, pry, and break to get them apart. Then you put the O-2 plug on the backside of the valve covers so you can't even see them or get your fingers on them!!
