I tuned the carb to the best of my ability, which isnt very good. I can get it running no problem, but when i go to press the throttle while idling, its sticky and not easy without a spike in rpms after i press it harder. But after i hit the gas, the throttle moves fine. Is there a way i can adjust it to get smoother throttle movement. Also any tips and tricks on tuning it better and adjusting the choke if it needs to be adjusted? Thank you!

metaphorically speaking, its not really sticky, i mean its like the vacuum pressure is holding it closed and when i press the throttle to open it, it doesnt open easy causing me to press the throttle harder to get it to move. and after it opens up it jumps in rpms due to me pressing the throttle to get it past the vacuum pressure.

Your description of the symptoms isn’t leading me in a clear direction for recommending a solution. I’d try working the throttle by hand and comparing the effort required to take it off idle to how much effort is required when using the accelerator pedal. When these throttle cables wear, they require excessive effort.

+1 ^^^^

Remove throttle cable from carb
Start engine

Try REVing carb manually

If its still sticky then it is a linkage issue, if it is smooth then it is a throttle cable issue

If linkage then check where it is binding, choke linkage is possible, worn throttle plate bushings can also cause it
