I am having a problem getting the new rear main seal on the crankshaft. It's the new design with the steel sleeve that presses onto the crank. The old design was just the seal. I think I'll try to see if I can locate the old design seal. My engine never leaked, and it has 132000 miles on it. I don't see why the old design won't work. Anyone run into this?

Uhhh... pardon me for asking, but if your old seal didn't leak, why are you replacing it?

I had to tear my motor down because of a knock. I'm reassembling it, but I'm not going to reuse any old seals.
I did find the old design seal, so I'm good now.
