This will be my 3rd Ranger. The first was a full-sized 1978 Ranger F250 with automatic and a 460 and posi 2WD. I kept it until last summer when my cousin came to trim trees. He fell in love with the blue beast, so I sent it home with him. I no longer needed a full-sized beast. My second Ranger was an 86 V6 long bed 4X4. It was a great little truck, until my sons decided to go "wheelin" like it was a stump jumper instead of a stock truck. Bent frame 4 blown out shocks and alignment way out of whack. Sold it cheap and just use old blue for a truck.
Now I find a 2004 Ranger 2 door ext cab 2WD V6 5 speed, about as plain jane as they come. 86K miles with repair records 1 owner, it just had to follow me home.
I had to replace the lamp in the passenger air bag switch. I used a 12 volt LED and it works great now. Because the dash was changed, they had to change the ignition key. When I got the truck it had one key for the door and one key to start it. I bought the Doorman key replacement package and changed the door locks to fit the ignition key.
Currently working on getting the new radio with GPS and backup camera installed. Don't you just love vendors that use a rubber ruller? The 4"X7" turned out to be 4.0625" and the hole is 4". I hate carving on a pristine truck but here I go !! Picks when I finsh up the install. Currently trying to find a good place to go through the firewall and connect accessories. I am not finding any nice places to hook wires to.
