I'm a noobie that's been lurking for a little while. I've found a guy with a '90 BII with 110k on it, 2.9L, auto everything. Guy says it runs great and is very clean, but could use a paint job. Only other thing is that it needs a relay to get it to go into 4x4. He's the second owner and has never used it offroad. My question is where can I find the specs on a '90 BII? I read somewhere that in some cases a '90 BII came with an 8.8 rear axle and that late '90 BIIs had the D35. Did the '90 come with a 2 speed xfer case?

I'm just looking for some general information and "what to look fors" before it go any further.

TIA,

Chris

No 8.8 was ever installed from factory. Likely to have the D35 front axle as most 90's had. Yes all B2's have a 2 speed t-case.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Boggin - I looked thru your thread and will check all that stuff out.

I'm not completely new to Broncos. I have a 77 Sport that I partially restored a few years back. Unfortunately, I made it a little to nice to run trails with for fear of getting it all scratched up. Oddly enough, body damage wouldn't bother me to much, but I hate it when tree limbs drag down the side of it scratching up the paint. I do run some trails occasionally, but it's stressfull dodging the tree limbs.

As for the BII, I'm looking for something to do some medium wheeling with. Not that big into rocks. I'm more of the find the right line, lite on the skinny pedal kind of wheeler although I can surely appreciate the stomp it to the floor and hold on kind of wheelers. I'm not much of a mechanic so I would be really hosed if I broke stuff all the time. I'm thinking 33's, 4.88's, some kind of locker in the back and something up front will get me where I want to go.

Don't you mean D28?
