I've been wanting a new lever action for a while. I currently have an old Winchester 94 30-30 which I love but it's technically not legal to shoot anywhere here and 30-30 is not a great caliper for target shooting.
Henry makes a decent looking gun in .38 special / .357 mag. .38 is cheap and is more fun on the range in my opinion but ive never fired 38/357 in anything but my ruger gp100 and never owned a henry.
Thoughts or opinions on henry rifles in general and on using .38/.357 in this type of gun? I don't hunt, just target shoot but I'm thinking it might be a good choice for my new "farm gun" to put down the occasional skunk or cayote...
New price is about $650 but I've found plenty of nice used ones for 300-400.
