Wow, didn't know we had this, thanks for pointing it out koda. Hear it goes:
Ive been wanting to repaint my truck since I bought it, but I don't know what color combo to go with. I was thinking either Sonic Blue with the lower tutone area and the center of the hood/grille black. or the inverse of that with red instead of blue. And if someone could Photoshop it for me that would be great. And if you do Photoshop it, think you can remove my steps as well?
Heres some pics to work with if you want:

Thanks in advance.

How much of a stripe on the hood do you want? Like a foot wide or the whole raised portion? And do you want it to continue over the cab?

Did a quick one up with about a 12inchish to 18inchish stripe. Red & black two tone.
I bet that doing the fender flares the same color would look nice, but I didn't do one up of that. Just use your imagination. :icon_thumby:

Someone else could probably have done a better job since I'm new to photoshop, but I felt like giving it a try. The red and black sounded easy.
Not sure how I would do with the sonic blue. I would probably make it look like crap, worse than I did this.
That's how I want to do my truck btw.. Haha

that actually looks really good, sorry I didn't specify. This is kind of the way I wanted the hood and grille done:

Hmm.. that looks beyond my skills, I think I'll leave it to another member.
Might take a day or two for someone to get around to it. If not by then, I'll take a whack at it. You might have to remind me. :icon_thumby:

Thanks koda, will do, and you didn't do too bad, I'd do a lot worse.... if I had PS. And at least here someone actually tried instead of arguing.

Danger06Ranger:

Here is the two you requested . . .

Hope this helps you make a decision about your paint.

Edit: I just noticed I forgot to trim back the lower two tone section around the grille guard and wheel well - oops - LOL. Got in a hurry near the end. And I am not sure if the Blue is Sonic Blue - hope it is close.

Koda: not a bad job, the more you use it the better you will get. :icon_cheers:

That looks great, Sonic Blue is a bit darker than that, but its a good representation, the red looks good too. Thats funny about the gaurd, but it'll be gone by then. How you get the black... black? Cause when I did it came out grey. And Boggin, I aint to far ahead of you on that one, lol. I might go SB when I repaint.
Heres SB:

Well, some people click "multiply" To get it black.. I hate doing that because when I do it it either looks to fake or it comes out some weird dark color of the origional. I just adjust the brightness to make the greyscale.. blackish.

Those steps are ok for minor things, but for an entire body I always use an Adjustment Layer for Hue/Saturation and select colorize. I am not sure when Adobe started the ALs but another way is to make a copy of the body (colored sections only) and then adjust the color of it with Hue/Saturation and then play with the layer blend modes such as darken, multiply etc. This gives you flexibility with the colors and your base image is never changed - Use Layers, Love Layers - Layers are you best friend - LOL - seriously.
There are many ways to change colors and maintain flex - keep working with it guys and if you have any other questions - ask I will be glad to try and answer them.

Danger06Ranger - I can change the color if you want - sorry I should have googled it. The hardest color to do is white - I still have yet to find a way to do it without the body washing out completely. I love Photoshop - PS rules . . . . LOL

Edit: Oh the Hell with it - here is a remake closer to SB using the pic you posted . . .
