I have an 88 2.9 automatic 4x4 with automatic hubs, cruise control, and A/C that I just bought, previous owner said it needed a new computer. I have another 88 2.9 automatic 4x4 with manual hubs, and no cruise control, A/C, or any other power accessories. Can I swap the computer from the one with no power accessories to the one with A/C and auto hubs and cruise control? I have no knowledge on anything about the computers on these, so this may be a dumb question. Thank you.

Should be fine. I think the only time there is differences is if one was egr and the other not, and if one was manual shift and the other auto.

+1 ^^^

1985-1994 Computer(ECU) only cares about engine fuel system and engine operation, these years have separate spark system

Yes, EGR or no EGR system mattered
Manual or auto also mattered

4WD system had no connection to computer in those years, or the AC system
