So I have done:
power leather seats (not wired in YET)(no heat)(grey to match stock interior)
Center console.
I plan on doing soon:
Over Head Console (OHC)
Auto dimming rear view mirror
And lighted visors.
I was wondering what other explorer components fit/work on rangers. I have a 1999 XLT extended cab 3.0
My local pick n pull has quite a few explorers ranging from 1995-2002.
Seats and console came out of a 1995.

Looks great. I eventually need to find a matched set of seats for my bronco 2 but I got a good driver's seat in a different color and installed seat covers LOL, nobody will ever notice HAHA!!!.

What is in the console? Looks like something similar I found in a Expedition last weekend DVD entertainment player?

The thing in the console is part of the factory JBL premium audio system. It was just a 6 disk cd changer. You put cds in a cartridge and stick it in the slot and the buttons on your radio would choose the disk. Mine had no cartridge but it did have a full pack of mentos

I tried taking seats out of an Explorer a while back to install in my 88 Bronco 2. Those didn't work the tracks are shaped different...however, now with a seat that has good tracks I'm sure I could swap the tracks over if I get my hands on another set of good seats again. Course with the right tools you could make any seat fit LOL, but I don't have the patience and tools for that type of stuff.

Got my console installed a while back and its nice to have, no useless empty space between the seats anymore.

I'm not sure what all will actually interchange. It would be nice to have a list in the tech section, don't recall seeing one anywhere.

I had both Explorer and Bronco II seats on Ranger tracks, very bolt on.

Changer thing is pretty cool, can you make it work with your headunit?

Engines (5.0) and rear axles are good upgrades :icon_thumby:

Please, please tell me you're being facetious about the CD changer. If not, I know I'm getting really old. I picked up my daughter a few weeks back with a couple of her friends in my Mustang (note, teenagers don't fit worth a dam in the backseat of a mustang, in case anyone was wondering) As I took them home, they asked me why I kept moving that thing in the center console around......I thought they were just screwing around.....nope, they had never seen a stick shift. :icon_confused:

I didn't know how they worked with an aftermarket HU is all, especially since the op has one of the big fancy headunits.

I have owned nothing with a changer. All my stuff is too base model for that fancy of stuff. :icon_twisted:

I was a poor high school kid happy to have a CD player when changers were popular. Now I just use a thumbdrive to do pretty much the same thing.

Looks great. Lighted visors is definitely worth the time, especially if you have a wife\girlfriend. I did it last summer in my 85. Planning on doing explorer buckets soon, any shot at getting a wiring diagram tossed up here? If I remember right, my old explorer had a decent sized harness going to the seats. More than I'd like to attack with a meter and hot wire to decipher.
