Afternoon:
Im in the progress of replacing my Open Diff with a Limited Slip Unit. Question is, do I need to Reuse the Reluctor Ring on the Carrier if there's NO ABS Sensors on the Axles. The Limited Slip Unit did not come with the Ring. I started the truck and the ABS Light does go off after its running. '96 Ford Ranger, Auto, 3.0 liter. 2 WD, use to be 1 wheel.....lol

Thanks for any Tips.

No, the ring is there only for the ABS sensor

You do have rear ABS on 1996 Ranger so ABS light will come on once you are driving if there is no rear sensor pulse

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
For ABS to work properly, yes, you need the ring.

If it came with the truck, it’s there for a reason. I would use it with the new carrier.

If you have the sensor hole and sensor in the new rear axle, then you need the ring
