Hi, today I finally got time to further take apart my 2100, I got everything else dissasembled and cleaned, except for the fuel bowl. Theres seems to be rust and dried gas in the bowl. Carb cleaner does nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lucas.

I poop in the furnace.
Soak it in vinegar. You need an acid not a solvent.

Yup, gasoline and/or vinegar.

Fresh gas will dissolve the old dried gas crust. Vinegar or coke may be needed to get the rust.

I like Brake Clean for most things these days.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Not all carb clean is created equal. I soaked a carb overnight with Gumout and scrubbed it with a brush to get it slightly less cruddy. When the Gumout ran out I got out the Cyclo, sprayed it down, blew it off with compressed air and it was clean.

Soaked it in the vinegar for the past two nights. Got all the rust and dried gas disintegrated. But left a black petina in the fuel bowl.

Good. Black patina is the oxygen being replaced with something acidic.

Coke and most rust converters contain phosphoric acid. When you apply them to iron oxide (rust) the oxygen molecule is displaced by the phosphorous molecule and you get iron phosphate, which is not corrosive.
