Well my first question would be what did you hit? Rangers typically lean to the left (drivers side) as that is where the fuel tank and driver are. Next, have you pulled the tire off to check the spring bucket at the top and the mount at the bottom? Is the spring broken somewhere?

A new shock won't do diddly for raising one side up at all. Softer springs will cause the truck to droop more. Remember you are driving a truck not a sports car, the suspensions are made to flex especially once they are lifted. The handling is completely different from cars/vans.
