Hi all,
I'm working on a 98 ranger, (4.0 5 speed 2wd) replacing the slave cylinder. On my previous 92 ranger (2.3 5 speed 2wd), when I replaced the slave cylinder on it, I converted the hydraulic line to a -3AN braided line because I've seen too many quick connects fail, and also a threaded connection is just so much easier to deal with. I planned on doing the same on the 98 and ordered the same line/fittings I used on the 92. With all the parts in front of me it appears that with the quick connect design change in 93-ish they also changed the other end where it goes into the slave (the tube part that's retained by a roll pin). So the fittings I used on the 92 (metal body slave) won't work on the new style (plastic body) slave and I cannot locate the correct fittings.
Ignoring the quick connect differences, can I use a slave for a 92 4.0 in the 98? Thanks
-Dan
