Looking for a source or two for getting a new trans crossmember for my 93 2.3l 5-speed. Anyone ever have to shop for one of these? Tried LMC Truck and no luck. Mine is rusted through the side where the rubber passes through on the drivers side.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Should be pretty cheap and easy to get from a junkyard. Or, have you checked LMC truck?

Look at Car-Part.com. This lists whatever is available from the junkyards.

Look at Car-part for one from Texas or the SW, and then call the yards and ask what the cost to pull and ship it would be.

Many years ago I got really good service from Desert Dog Autoparts. Their guy messed up, ended up accidentally destroying the part, and they had found another one, at a different yard, and had it on the way to me within a day. I actually ended up getting it earlier than expected because the second one was coming from somewhere much closer.

Found one. A local yard had a NICE one from a '94 Explorer. Now just have to get the old crap cut off.

Worked great. I have seen others talk about having to drill one hole but I didn't have to. All three bolts lined up on the passenger side and the hole in the bottom of the frame on the drivers side was already there.
