Have changed axle ratio and tire size on one of my three 2002 Rangers. Intend to do the same on the other 2 as well. Would like to recalibrate the speedometer, but don't want to buy something that will only recalibrate the speedometer. Will probably have to spend more, although something that offers other uses and greater versatility would be worth more. Any suggestions?

Forscan, it's free. An elm327 adapter to use it on a laptop is around 30 bucks. Forscan can program the speedo, program keys, full function scanner with bi directional controls, lots of other stuff. Of course you need to have a windows based laptop to use it though...

Thanks for the reply Dirtman. Was hoping for something along the lines of Forscan. The only problem is my laptop is a Mac. Forscan says they are planning a Mac version sometime in the future.

I know diddly about mac's. My laptop is actually linux but forscan works fine on it using a windows emulator. Dunno if there's anything like that available for mac. Other than that...

A local tuner shop should do it for you for almost nothing. The only other equipment that I know of that would allow you to do it yourself would be something like an SCT tuner. They run around 300-600 bucks depending on the model.
