Hello All,

I am waiting to see if anyone can verify my brake hose fitment. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 stepside/styleside model. I have purchased the Ford Motorcraft OEM brake hoses for the front brakes. I have placed the "Right" hose on the Passenger side. The mounting bracket has the "R" stamped in it and the "L" hose on the Driver's side. I am concerned with how stretched the hose is with the truck parked and the wheel cranked. Both hose are stretched equally depending on the which way the wheels are turned.

Thank you!

Troy

I think you have the banjo fitting clocked wrong.

Thanks for the response!

That's what I was thinking but it seems like it can only go one way? I was thinking about tearing it all apart and trying to turn the banjo fitting. I just know it has the lip that I thought made it idiot proof. But maybe not. Lol! I thought about trying to swap just the hoses.

And another point to be made is...in my research I found a picture of an Explorer with the hose in the mirrored direction. I think I'll research the Ford Motorcraft # for the Explorer's right hand hose just to see what it comes back with.

If they have a lip then yea, I'd switch them left to right. If the metal part of the hose angled forward instead of back it looks like it would be perfect.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I'll probably try that next weekend and see what it looks like.

I was working on my truck today... I looked at my hoses. Mine have the shoulder (lip) facing up. I'm sure you just have to flip the caliper side over... but you can swap sides if you wish.

Thank you!!

I actually saw a 4x4 for sale and looked at it today too. I think you are probably correct. I'm going to try to get to it this week or up coming weekend. I think that I botched the install... Doh!

All good... hopefully you don't pull them apart during the week.

Be Careful out there...

For anyone following this thread, it appears that the "tab" needs to face up... Doesn't seem to make any sense to even have it on the banjo block though.
