I have a 1996 Ranger with the stock cassette radio. It recently stopped working.

The radio still lights up, but no longer displays the time, and the radio and cassette player no longer work.
Is there any way I can fix it easily?

Thanks for any advice.

Actually I was looking for one for mine in a pick n pull type place a couple weeks ago, saw a lot of your type models in there. My options were very limited but still came up with a very good one there (and a 360 day warranty :)
You just better know how to remove it yourself

I have a 96 Mazda, had same problem. There are 2 fuses that lead to the radio. Check both of them. More than likely your radio is fried. There a companies that can refurbish your stock radio and update it to Bluetooth for about $200 on ebay. I suggest using Crutchfield to at least take a look at what new radios you can put in your truck for the same price. I ended up buying a Kenwood Double Dash radio and 4 speakers for just over $300 from Crutchfield. If you do go new radio, find one that plays flac files.

This. I got a new radio for my Dad's Cadillac on eBay a couple years ago for $7. The shipping was $10. Did have to have the dealer unlock it.
Since radios are almost never interchangeable any more, the used ones aren't worth squat since they only fit one vehicle.
