Temporary drivers' seat out of plywood?

Anybody ever build a temporary seat while the original seat is at the upholstery shop?

Just use an old lawn chair.

I know of someone who used a throwable boat cushion on a milk crate

A lawn chair is too big but a milk crate might work. BUT, it looks like the passenger seat might bolt right in.
Anybody ever try that? Thanks.

ive done just that, have to use drivers side seat tracks though. It does mean the seat release lever will be on the inside instead of the outside where youre used to it being.

My seat release levers are on the front of the seats.

If you're spending the money to get seats professionally re-done then another $35 from a pick-N-pull to ride around safely seems pretty cheap. Just my .02! I used to have to test drive new vans pre-conversion on cardboard boxes built for that by GM. In yard no problem, on road sketchy and dangerous!

Thanks. I went to the upholstery shop and the guy said just that. AND, while its out, I may as well do the 60/40 mod. Never did like that 60/40 seat.

Friend of mine used milk crates for seats in his hotrod one year for the local cruise night LOL. Not recommended, nor a good idea, and certainly not legal...he just insisted on driving his hotrod pickup in every cruise night regardless of what project was underway for the truck at the time...and that particular year he was upgrading seats LOL.
