I picked up a new (used) Longmire book the other day. I about freaked out last night, the guy that was killed was from Youngstown Ohio.

I was like "hey, I was just there!" I thought it was a funny coincidence.

I don't know what a Longmire book is...hopefully nobody was really killed?

The thing that is clear is that you made a lot more of your trip than I did. All I did was hurt my arse and kill bugs. I thought about stopping at Canton on the way back, but I just tend to roll, roll, roll.

It is a fictional book series, they based a TV show off of it. The show is pretty good, the books are a lot better though. I snag them for a couple bucks when they pop up in a used book store.

I had more trip to make something out of too lol. Honestly I had never driven that far before let alone in my Ranger and had never driven that far east. I have flown to Detroit for TRS and DC in high school with a layover in Chigago, never seen the country though. I got to see (and smell thanks to no A/C) a farmer picking tomatoes with a big tomato picker. Nobody does that in Iowa. Lots of ground had been worked, no idea what was in between seasons out there. It was rather incredible the smells you don't know you miss with A/C, it is probably the same for you on your bike. Passing little restaurants/festivals and smelling the food as we passed was neat, the various trees, the tomato field... it was cool and something easy to take for granted.

Should have kept heading east. If you go far enough, you hit the dunes in North Carolina. Cool feeling to have your truck next to the surf.

Actually the original plan was to meet the aunt my wife is named after who lived in Catasauqua PA which is pretty far east. Then with a western trip maybe wander up thru Oregon or something then I could say I drove my truck across the country.

But her aunt passed away and we have been burning thru PTO time like crazy with dr visits anyway so that didn't happen.
