I don't believe so, I imagine there are a few different companies remaning these engines. They all typically seem to have warranties (at least from what I've seen). I'd try and get a figure on how many engines they've actually had returned. Price range ... ? 1,100-1,600 for a new long block?

IMO, drive it until it won't go anymore. There have been a few 2.9Ls that have seen more miles. You might be able to find a cheap junk yard replacement engine. I believe some junk yards will warranty some parts, you'll have to look into that a little further, though.

You could always go with a different engine, but it's certainly going to be a lot more work.

262,325 so far, all original. Going until it dies, hoping for 300k. Even the small places up here will warranty their stuff for a year. if it blows up in that amount of time or under 10k miles you get another one free.
