I know this has been hashed around for years but here goes. I have a 2000 Ford XLT w/4.0 auto and an electric (on the fly) transfer case. I would like to flat tow and to do so I understand you need a manual transfer case. Is there a way to rebuild the one I have and make it into a manual. I have seen the shifter and I'm not looking for that. I just want to make it into a manual with the shift lever like you find in regular trucks. Any recommendations or thoughts?
