My credo
19K, 19D, 92Y, 88M, 91F....OIF-III (2004-2005)
We have the GoFundMe page for the anniversary. If just the 7k followers on Facebook each donated $1, me and some of the members here could put together a pretty decent used Ranger. Doesn't have to be a new one.

Maybe I should just build a Bronco II. How weird would that be?? I'm sure my dog would love to have the room in the back to go with me on trips, and my daughter keeps wanting a Jeep. Maybe I can get her hooked on a Bronco II.
Hopefully more will jump in and donate, I donated $100 the other day. I really love my Bronco 2, and its soon getting a new engine, yes new, not a junk yard engine, I assume re-manufactured, but it'll be coming from NAPA with a 3 year warranty I can't wait to get it going again, still runs and drives now but its starting to go down quick so while I have the chance its getting a new engine, it'll still be a 2.9L V6 and for what I do its perfectly fine, that thing doesn't need to be going 80mph anyway LOL.

Not sure why it is maybe because an 84 Ford Ranger was my first vehicle or what, but I really enjoy driving Rangers and Bronco 2's...and on the rare occasion I get to drive my old 88 F250 love driving them, can't beat the older trucks.

Edit: If poor myself can afford to donate $50 to the go-fund me page, the rest of these guys/gals should easily be able to at least double what I donated...hint...hint don't let the broke guy beat ya'll out on being the one who donated the most in 1 donation, get on there and donate people, or give Jim a vehicle to work with...that runs and drives preferably would be a good base for him to start with LOL.

I've got 3 BII's that I'd let you have your pick from. Spare 2.9 engine too.

Jim, you find a way to get it to you, and I'll give you an 89 single cab long bed 2.9, 5spd, manual transfer case 4x4. It still runs but not the best. Likely has cracked heads again, or a head gasket issue, but comes with a spare engine in a BII..

Been keeping an eye out for lower mileage trucks. These, I think, are still higher mileage than you prefer. Also keeping in mind price point so you can get up and running soon.

Last one I showed you was manual. This says automatic.

Only because you mentioned fiberglass. This is too high.

Wow, I'd really like to have the 1st one. The last one has to be a misprint on price.

Kinda weird, $1200 is what my parents paid for my ‘85 in ‘00. Actually a little high for the day.

Now it is sketchy cheap. Most nice trucks around that 15 age range are $5-10k now.

I've been looking at this:

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bar/d/87-ford-bronco-ii/6688973176.html

I like that it has the center console, rear hatch window that opens, and power windows. It's also a manual. I haven't driven a manual since TRS-1 before I converted it to V8. I normally prefer the automatic, but feel like the manual is more reliable in this case.

I built a Bronco II (below), but sold it when I got divorced. I never even got a chance to drive it.

Factory tach and cruise would be nice for your voyage too. Kinda neat it is so well loaded but still has a stick. Electric 4wd too.

While the light display is neat I think first gen BII's have about the most worthless cupholders known to man.

Stay with the factory powertrain? (aside from D28 and possibly the 7.5 I would guess)

Yup. Not sure why they bothered to spend the money in tooling to have them made into the lid.

I didn't notice the absence of the t-case lever LOL.

Definitely needs a D35. Maybe a 28-spline 8.8 from a Ranger. Stock motor and transmission for reliability. Regear the axles to either 4.56 or 4.88. Electric rear locker if it's in the budget.

Some people may not realize this, but the Bronco II Corral started as a Bronco II photo section at TheRangerStation.com back in 2001

https://web.archive.org/web/20010310111832/http://www.therangerstation.com:80/BroncoII/Index.html

The Bronco II has been a part of this website from almost the beginning.

I would either need to borrow a garage here in north Texas, or gather up all the necessary parts, and take it to a members garage for a weekend and assemble a dream team of RBV owners to help get it done.

I love the Bronco2 idea! Obviously lol. I actually gave up on finishing my Truggy because my B2 gives me,the GF and my dog so much more room. Im taking the dog on his first off road trip end of Oct to Rocks and Valleys..

However Im still willing to sell you my 83 Ranger Truggy cheap :stirthepot:
