I had to buy a new belt tool myself about a week ago to put a belt on my daughters Edge. I have owned one and was always in the same spot in my box for probably 20 years. My daughter (who owns the Edge now) had let her boyfriend into my garage to "borrow" my cut off tool and my pancake compressor. It appears he probably borrowed more. I suspect I will be replacing a few tools in my future as I find I no longer have them any longer when I go to use them. I'm still spitting nails mad over this entire thing. She swears he only took the cut off tool and compressor.

Time to let that young man know the facts of life...you ask before borrowing, and when you return the tool, it's cleaner than when it was borrowed !!!

Be sure your cleaning a pump shotgun when lecturing the young man and be very sure to pump the shotgun so he hears it and will remember that sound next time he is in your garage.

I used to think people were "borrowing" my tools....until....as time passed every one turned up right where I left them.

I'd rather blame other people....

Yup, that's a hazard. I'm my own worst enemy as far as losing things.

Grumpaw… I like the wheels... and I've thought about the honey comb grill inserts. Looks good! Want I really want is a T Rex grill... but my want list outweighs my budget at the moment. I have my new bumpers getting massaged in the garage and when that project is done I'm gonna look closer at doing something with the grill.

While misplacing a tool is always a possibility.... My kid was apparently lending my tools out. So at this point... it's anybody's guess.

Those look just like the rims that just arrived yesterday for my F150
Got em on-line, company called Extreme Customs LLC. Their Vision 141 Legend 5 wheels in Gunmetal. $90.00 each with free shipping from Wi., no tax. 20 matching lugnuts for $14.00.
Best price I could find, 20 bucks cheaper than anyone else.

I always liked supporting my local tire guys... they're just trying to make a living. When I figured out what I wanted searching online... I went to the tire store here in town and they couldn't come anywhere close to online pricing. If it would have been close... I would have just bought from them. But I was looking at several hundred dollars on 5 tires and 5 wheels. They totally understood they weren't going to make the sale for my tires and wheels but they were putting two new tires on my daughters car the same day.

One day... we won't even have good smaller tire shops... things are changing fast.

Agree, I too, like to use our local shops, and do much of the time. But $20 bucks X 4 is $80 plus tax, which is the cost of one of the wheels.
Local shop understands, and their the ones swapping the rims/tires, so there still going to make $$$ off me.

Unfortunately, I paid a lot more. It was one of those times. I wanted the right wheels. Couldn't find them in the right lug pattern. Ended up having someone order the wheels (American Racing wheels) undrilled. Then they drilled them, enlarged the center bore, then shipped them to me. I better take good care of these babies. I still may not get them on the truck before going to Ohio. Just not quite enough available time left to do everything else I need to do to ensure the new tires don't wear badly from alignment issues. We'll see.

Whats funny, is that originally I also wanted American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, but they ran almost $50.00 more than the Vision wheels, same look.
Really funny part is that both the Vision and the American Racing cast wheels are made in China, very possibly at the same factory.!!!
Gotta luv the AMERICAN in American Racing !!!

Changed the oil in my 2002 4WD 3.0L. I was doing my usual gripping about having to reach over the front wheel and through the fender well to get to the danged oil filter when, first time ever, I noticed it - Ford actually installed a plastic spout under the oil filter so that oil is directed away from the engine when removing the filter! Whoa! Imagine that. Must have cost Ford maybe 5 cents to add that spout.

I used to cuss the ex-wife's 2002 Sable 3.0L because the filter would drain oil over the starter when removed. I fixed that - got rid of the wife!

Changed spark plugs and fuel filter. Kinda fun doing a tuneup in under an hour for about thirty bucks.

Also checked header and valve cover bolt torque for the big trip.
