Do you know what engine you have? Had any work done to it recently? Is the check engine light on?

Right now it could be just about anything.

Coolant temp sensor? Maybe the engine doesn't know it isn't warmed up yet. Is it an auto transmission? 2003 Rangers come in a lot of different combinations.

It's the same people (us) here or in any other section. It's not like a bunch of super-geniuses are in the help section.

EFI isn't my strong point but I think it assumes the engine is cold until the system proves otherwise.

It is but it makes follow up posts easier when posts are organized and easier to find.

The pcm uses the coolant temp sensor in open loop (cold start). If it fails, it will usually read very low which means the pcm could think it’s 12 degrees outside when it’s actually, say, 90. Generally, the engine will flood out and not start or need throttle input to stay running if it does start. I would be looking at tune up items if the mileage is up there or the infamous vacuum elbow to the throttle body if it’s a 4.0. Of course have engine codes read if the light is on (even if it’s not, there could be pending codes that will help clue you in).

Could possibly be just need a set of motor mounts. If the vibration gets worse with throttle but evens out after settling into a cruising speed, that could be the issue.
