Are you going to sell your 9" once your done, or are you going to try to do a full floater and go back to it?
nah..gonna completely rebuild the half tons, then put them under the wifes exploder(will be my dd), once i get her another suv/truck to drive. going to keep it pretty simple though, 35s, coil/shock, maybe custom radius arms.

That doesn't exist in California....
my dad owns a towing company in the bay area and has some contacts with people. i can get a chevy 60 for 600, and a ford for 850.:thefinger: but, thats as cheap as i can get them, sometimes can find better deals on clist, but very rarely. so im gonna take care of the rear first, beat up the 44 while im building the 60, then swap it in. probably gonna take your advice and keep the radius arms up front, and then eventually link the rear.

does anyone know what transmissions will bolt up to the '97 4L? im kinda entertaining the idea of a dana 300 with a 4.1kit. but from my research, nobody makes an adapter kit for the m50d-->dana 300. and getting one built would probably be a pain in the ass.

It would be possible to get the C4 with a C5 bellhousing, then you can run the 300...but you'd have to get a tuner and delete the auto trans from the ECU...or just go for the atlas...

i have a 5speed rightnow, so my ecu shouldnt have any issues then, right? and im going to price everything out as far as i can, then see whats worth it in the long run. either way, i need a different trans if i want another tcase to bolt up to it im assuming?

Your good with your ECU, you won't have issues (forgot you had the manual ECU) To run any case besides an RBV or an atlas, you will need a different trans, or an adapter from advance adapters...

that's a good deal. I paid 524 for mine. Just make sure it has everything if your paying that for it. I just got mine built, installing it this weekend.

so after some thinking, i decided i will sell my fullwidth 44 and 9inch, along with the wheels and tires. i want to put a early bronco 44 under the exploder and keep the 8.8 in the rear. so if anyone in cali wants a set of axles, ready to go under a ranger with coilovers up front they are ready to go. i still need to pick-up a dana 60 front and build it, but that shouldnt be too much longer. im thinking another month or so and the 44 and 9inch should be ready for pick-up.

and heres the 10.25 i bought for $100. came complete, and even had a 1330 pinion yoke, 4.56 gears, and a brand new q78 tsl!!
