Free Stuff! :yahoo:
I've been waiting 6 months to go to Walnut Creek to my Aunt & Uncle's to pick up my '87 B2 they gave me! I've no idea when it was park, but the tags expired in July '02. It was sitting up by the pond behind my Uncle's little barn.
It's got some surface rust but generally solid. Some rust through at the rear of the driver's door opening and behind the pass door. The gas smells like lacquer and the tank appears to be condensating, so it's coming out and going to find a fuel cell to go between the frame rails and under the rear floor.
I got the EB44 w/4"lift springs that was going in my truck. Several 8.8 Explorer axles for the rear. 5.13 R&P for the front & rear. An Elocker out of a FW44 and going to spool the rear w/cclip elim and probably a line lock for an ebrake. Bumpers, slider and simi exo to fab. And tomorrow I'll start gutting the inerior as it is damp and smells of mildew.
Here's the pics I got when we went to pick it! Thanks again to RangerSVT for another adventurous roadtrip and more wear & tear on the trailer.

The grills already gone so less work there making room for the 10,000lb winch!

As you can see there is some surface rust around the wheel wells to cut out and make room for the 37" IROKS I got for it!

We got a dedicated trail Rig project Rick!
I'll keep the photos coming!!
I hoping to be wheeling it by the end of March! I have to go to NC and VA tuesday and coming home around the 25th. My son's coming home from the Stan!

Yeah right! :dunno:
Yours looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor! :icon_thumby:
Mine looks and smells like it needs an attack from the sawzall! :icon_rofl:

Up to midnight last night doing some research. Found line locks are not good for more than about a 60 second hold on the brakes. So that option is out for an ebrake. Maybe with the gears, the doubler build going in, I just won't run an ebrake. Or try to figure out a cable actuated pinion/driveshaft brake of some sort. Know I've seen a vehicle or 2 with one and also a brake at the driveshaft at the rear of the tranny/tcase. Have to research some more on that one.
Also looked at some fuel cells, got to do some measuring and decide aluminum or poly?

Went over budget today!

Wipers are trashed! So we stopped working. Have to wait till payday to continue! :annoyed:
RangerSVT said I should rename it OBB2 (Over Budget B2). :dunno: Any Thoughts? Someone got some wiper blades & arms they'd donate to a retired guy over budget? :icon_idea:

Ok
I was BSing! Got the interior all stripped today! :yahoo:
A lot of wet stuff, but saved more than originally planned! Headliner, plastic interior trim, front seats & front seat belts. (probably do 4 points later, these will keep me legal for now).
Stuff out; soaked carpet, door panels, rear seats, all the rear plastic which will get cut to accomodate my major fender trimming then reinstalled. Front bumper gone. Hood liner gone.
We didn't rush and quite early. More tomorrow!

These are definitely gone tomorrow!

Massive 2.9FI. :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

Might need a patch behind the door :annoyed: Outside getting sawzalled :icon_thumby:

Interior was in great shape other than wet and some mildew!

Door panels gone faded & mildew! Saved handle, window crank & trim for opener.

Headliner ain't too bad :icon_thumby: I'll run it till it droops and annoys me

Came with accessories :icon_surprised: Also original temp spare! Ain't telling where that went! Noone needs to know!

SOAKED carpet GONE!!

Front seats. One little spot on the driver's. I'll get some of them camo seat covers and run with em!

Rear seat bottoms. Anybody need em, come get em, let me know, make me an offer!

These are out too, want em make offer or come get em!!

Going to run it like this!

Room for cutting fenders and tubbing!
Hopefully tomorrow we can get the body off for some frame anti further rusting, brake line & fuel line replacement, tank removal, other stuff!
I love this thing and can't wait to wheel the HELL out of it!:icon_bounceblue:

Awesome. I'd love to have free truck. I see the potential.

You said on your other thread that it didn't run and that's why it was parked. Any idea on whats going on?

WARNING!!
Some of the pictures in this post contain mechanical techniques or procedures which were conducted by trained professional rednecks with combined experience of over 50 yrs!! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!

4" EB lift springs and some 5.13s somewhere in those boxes. AND some STAGE 8 wheel bearing lockers!

Dodge pass drop DANA 44 that contains an Elocker w/5.89s I picked up for $300! And it's got flat top knucks! I'll take what I need, put in another carrier and see how much I can get back out of it to reduce the price of the elocker even more!!

Interior plastic trim which will go back in after cutting.

37" IROKS which will go on some 15X10 5 on 5.5 steelies!

Running boards gone!

Towbar installed to move it around

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Don't ask ladder rating, but we made a calculated redneck hypothesis and went with it!

Ready for frame grinding, POR, cross members, straightening, exhaust, EB44 & 8.8 31 spline, new fuel & brake lines, fuel cell, body mounts w/3" body lift.

Also there where no animals killed, injured or under the work zone! Even though it may appear that way. Browny is fine!
I'm taking 10 days to go see my son who's coming home from the Stan! So we'll get back to it after that.
Exploded that budget today; oil, filter, transmission filter kit, valve cover gaskets, tune up stuff! Figure it's easier with the body off, do it all now.
:yahoo: :headbang:
Working on it forever??? :icon_confused:
We been at it like 2 days but really on half days.
Not sure why it wasn't running. Uncle said it just quite. I'm not EVEN trying to start it until I get fuel lines replaced and a fuel cell in it. You don't even want to know what we seen just looking down into the top of the tank where the filler hose came off!!! :shok: :icon_surprised:
I'm also dual battering it and they're going behind the front seats in the floor board. So it's going to be a while.
Uncle did say it had an electrical problem before was fixed, then just quite going up to the barn. One fuse link already bypassed, we'll probably take the rest out, when I run all new battery cables!
And while I'm in NC, I'll stop by & see an old alternator guy & get a GM one wire to throw on it that has been peaked & tuned for amperage!! Yeah here comes the half breed comments, I said I wasn't doing that to AC, nothing about this one! :icon_thumby:
