On my honeymoon we made a 1500 mile loop around Oregon in a week... In one of the spots we got stuck behind some slow traffic in a mountain pass type area (small mountain, but still), caught up to the cause and there was a Dodge Dakota (late 90's body style) with a hitch insert pulling a fairly short travel trailer sitting at a goofy angle, the trailer was a 5th wheel with a gooseneck converter on the hitch, but that was in a 2 5/16" ball in the RECEIVER!!!!!! that poor Dakota was squatting like heck with all that weight way behind the axle... I noped the heck out of that situation and passed them, the ol V8 sploder had much better power to weight ratio than that mess...

my ranger would haul it just fine on flat ground.. anywhere with a turbo....1100 tounge...easy.

That was awesome. Just watched that with my RV manager laughing the whole time. Gotta love it. 2 straps, a pallet, some wood screws and a gooseneck with an a-frame tongue welded to it. I'm shocked the straps didn't break. I bet that trailer is gutted. Older trailers like that don't weigh nearly as much as one the same length these days. This is one of those "gotta do what you gotta do" moments when your real truck is broke down.

that guy is nuts, fifth wheel should be just ahead of the axle to put weight on the front axle to distribute the weight . The pallet and one inch straps is totally wrong ,good way to get someone killed. That setup is a big no no.
