That's not a copycat, Because of aerodynamics, the two completely different cars look a like.All I know is they are not as close as Ford and Mazda are and are distant enough that most people don't know they are still connected if they even still are after Ford let them put Hyundai badges on a car in the 1960's.
It was more than a rebadge, That's what Mazda did.
Personally I have never cared about Hyundai to really follow what they do.
Then why would you even attempt an answer??
When you talk about copycat I think of something more like the old Toyota Celica:

Beside the mirrors are in completely different places, Just because it had four tires and a windshield don't mean they copied ford.
