1985 Ranger Scamp motorhome

Hello folks! I want to show you all my new-to-me 1985 Ranger Scamp motorhome. I hope this link works. If it doesn't, I'll supply some pictures when I get it home. It is in truly excellent condition and currently in Wisconsin. I'm in Baltimore and will be going to get it next week. It has the 2.8 and five speed transmission. Think it has cruise, and it does have ac that is supposed to work. The seller says that only 16 were made, and this is the ninth. Unknown how many survived. Gonna name it Number Nine after John Lennon.

It does suffer from a prematurely rusted out driver's side floor pan. I think this damage is not too critical at this point. I understand that cracked caulk on the rain gutter is probably the culprit. Water gets in and drains to the cab floor kinda like the drains of a sunroof, but without the tubes and routing. The seller is going to replace this pan and install six new Hankook RA-18 tires so I can get it home. Any idea what kind of caulk or fix the rain gutter needs?

Once I do get it home, I'll give it a once over to make it more road worthy and reliable, then blast to parts unknown.

My longer term goal is to keep it in excellent condition, and upgrade the foolie axle. I have a 1995 Toyota dually axle that is the same part number as a U-haul Toyota truck that is still brand new and never installed. That will take major fabrication and have never done anything remotely like that. I would like to consult here for advice and direction for that. Then, I will make sure the cab ac is rebuilt.

Hope this link works!

See you later!

That's awesome.

All it needs now is 6 inches of lift and 33"s.

My credo
Work hard and play harder
That is awesome! The first thing I would do is a drive train swap.

Sent from the front seat of my Ranger.

Back in '05 I was chasing one of these but the owner sold it to someone else on me..

THIS is the only vehicle I would consider it worth doing another TTB 4x4 conversion on...

But it also cries out for either a 4,0 or 5.0 conversion as well
