I have a cracked block on my 91 3.0 ranger. I think Im gonna attempt to change it out with a rebuild from O'Reily. Are there any posts with someone who has done this before in the archive that anyone knows about? It would be a great help especially if they have a step by step with pictures. Has anyone ever bought a rebuild from O'Reily before? Is it recommended? Thanks for yalls help in advance.

It's your money, but for the $1650 you're going to pay for the engine from O'Reilly you can sure find some cheaper ones at a Bone Yard. I don't think there is anything wrong with a rebuild like that, but it's not hard finding a used 3.0 at all since you can get a FWD or RWD block and use it. The FWD block just needs to have new head gaskets put on, but since you'll have it out of the truck that should be pretty easy on a stand.
