I have a 97. Pulled off the bed. Theres some nice 98-00s out there with the step side bed I really want. Will it bolt right on?
Anything from the 2.5 i can throw on my 2.3 to make it faster except the whole engine?
Thanks for the help

OK, I swapped between '98 Rangers, so bear that in mind.
Bed itself, is exact bolt up; but hold that thought.
As they were same year, I was able to unplug the wiring harness from the chassis and transfer (One could reuse the fleet side box wiring, it's just a couple inches wider, so you would need to tuck it up).
The tail lights for '93-11 use the same mounting holes, so if you transfer the wiring, you can reuse your existing lights. (I would swear the '98-99s have the same wiring/lamps as '97 but I might need to watch my language).
The filler nozzle for the step side is slightly narrower/different angle. Install the correct one before you bolt the box on, it will save doing it twice.
The rear bumper is box specific and the step side box looks stupid with fleetside bumper at least IMHO as it sticks out a couple inches on either side (So, get the filler, bumper and the tailgate when you get the box).
Nothing from the 2.5l moves to 2.3l as "bolt on" go fast accessory short of swapping engines.
