My credo
Smog is for pussies.
Hello I have a '94 ranger 4x4 4.0 supercab and have the following available lift kit brands available and do not want to make a poor decision that I'm going to regret later: skyjacker, tuff country, and superlift. And the skyjacker comes with: hydro, nitro, or m95 shocks which of these is better? Thanks

I would go with the SkyJacker myself. I have the SuperLift on both my Ranger and Explorer. You will have to gusset the SuperLift brackets, where the SkyJacker is already done. Its not too difficult to add the gussets, but they should be done (I broke the passenger side axle bracket on both...

This bracket bolts to the frame. This is how I fixed it....

Both sides. (front/back)

I did a write up on it in the tech library...

Skyjacker is the one to get if you don't want regrets. I've used their Nitro shocks, which are pretty decent. I'm not familiar with the M95 (avoid the Hydro though).
Better still would be to forget any of those shocks and get a nice set of Fox or Bilstein shocks. I run Fox 2.0 resis on mine and I can't say enough about how good & firm, yet smooth they are.
The KYB Gas-A-Just is another good shock if you need ones at a lower price point.

Another suspension kit worth considering is James Duff. I'm not real big on the rod end joints they use on their radius arms, but others seem to like them. Overall their kits are built well also.

Definitely avoid the Hydro, considering the nitro are usually just a few dollars more and that much better.
